Big news! The Remembrance Day Mask that was designed by David Arrigo and worn by Carey for a couple games in November was recently auctioned at Legends Depot. Proceeds from the auction would go to four worthy causes: the Montreal Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, The Soldier On Program, and The Quebec MFRC. We are happy to announce that the auction ended yesterday with a final value of $15,000! WOW!

Voting for the 2012 NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa is well underway. If you haven’t already voted for Carey yet, what are you waiting for? Head over to http://vote.nhl.com and start voting today!

Funny stuff!

Also, Carey has once again been named the Molson Cup winner for the Canadiens for November. This is the second month in a row this season that he has won the award. There will be a pre-game ceremony on Tuesday night before the Canadiens take on the Columbus Blue Jackets and former teammate James Wisniewski.

Fun fact: of Carey’s 10 wins so far this season, he has allowed 1 or fewer goals in 7 of those games. Amazing stat!

First Star (Again!)

Well we called it the other day, Price fans!

Based off his stellar play this past week, during which he only allowed two goals in three games, Carey has been named the NHL First Star of the Week!

Here is the official release from NHL.com:

On the strength of two shutouts, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was named the NHL’s First Star for this week.

Price stopped 25 shots in a 4-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, then stopped 17 shots in a 4-0 win against the New York Rangers on Saturday, Price made 30 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

Back to Back Shutouts

Although the Canadiens got off to a bit of a slow start, they seem to have turned the corner and are heating up during the month of November. At the centre of it all is Carey Price, who has put together a record of 4-2-1 in his 7 games this month. In only one game has he allowed more than two goals, and he put together back-to-back shutouts against Carolina and Buffalo this past week.

A few weeks ago he went 3-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and .950 SV%, which was good enough to be named the NHL First Star of the Week.

This week’s numbers? 2-0-1 with a 0.65 GAA and .973 SV% and 2 shutouts!

We think Carey should be the First Star of the Week again – how about you?

Playground Poker Club – Legends Banquet

The 2011 Legends Banquet hosted by The Rail – Coal Fire Bistro, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for hockey fans and poker fans alike to mingle, get autographs and rub shoulders with the biggest names in hockey history.

The banquet runs from 12PM – 2PM on Sunday, December 4th and is hosted by hockey’s most legendary players Jean Beliveau, Yvon Cournoyer and Henri Richard.

Also in attendance at the banquet are hockey greats Ralph Backstrom, Donnie Marshall, Junior Langlois, Ab McDonald, Bobby Rousseau, Phil Goyette,Stéphane Richer, Chris Nilan, Sergio Momesso, Karl Dykhuis and Enrico Ciccone.

The proceeds from this event will benefit kids with talent who can’t afford to play sports. The Rail and Playground Poker Club are committed to giving back to the community whenever possible and giving underprivileged kids the opportunity to participate in organized sports is something that we’re very passionate about.

Design Carey’s Mask!

As with the October mask for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, this mask will be auctioned off after it is worn at LegendsDepot.com – you can check it out here.

Remembrance Day Mask

Carey’s mask artist, David Arrigo, tweeted last night that he has finished the work on Carey’s Remembrance Day 2011 mask. It will debut next week against the Edmonton Oilers. The new commemmorative mask celebrates the history of all of Canada’s military and veterans with a special bit of emphasis on Quebec’s contributions to the Canadian Forces. It will be auctioned off at Legends Depot after the 11th.

The Numbers Game – Carey’s Amazing Week
